perspective, international

My recent thoughts about disasters and national trauma started pre-flood, as for several weeks I have been oddly concerned about what I would post next Sunday, September 11. I am fortunate to have a reader from Norway--Demie, and a new one from Japan--Haricot, nations that this year have endured/are enduring massive traumas created by man and nature. On her blog, Paraphernalia, Demie posts, among other things, beautiful, soulful photographs and thoughtful quotes, evoking peace and intelligence. Haricot's Chambered Nautilus Blog {Haricot's Tanka} also has those qualities, with her unique touch. As I go through this week I will be moving back into my usual: wacky folk art, the color green, and maybe about a post about football...but I hope to grow too, as a blogger and a friend to my readers.

  2. Gosh, I had totally forgotten about 9/11 but would have remembered by Saturday. It is still unbelievable. It would be nice if we all concentrated on peace wouldn't it. We shall see.

  3. Hello Jen:
It is so true that through this wonderful world of blogging we become aware of the many traumas and troubles in the world at large. This at least serves to give some perspective on one's own difficulties and, through reading the accounts of others, one can gain strength and support.

  5. Thank you, Jen.
As Demie mentioned, if I could manage to give perspective to one's everyday troubles, I would be so happy as a blogger.
I myself noticed that we live through unfamiliar series of moments, by a comment.

  6. yes this is right to remember tragic happenings of the past ...and how tragic events happen all over our earth. people handle it all in very different ways...I have been praying for the Texas peoples and I hope they will get relief from those fires and the drought there. It is very much cooler and rainy here in the Cinci area due to the tropical storm remnants that are passing on by this week.wish I could send some of it west to the Texans.
