last weekend, in the Catskills

Mostly a frenzy of painting and fussing with the store (see previous post). But also a Cajun Night dinner/dancing/fundraiser featuring jambalaya, King Cake and music by Captain Squeeze and the Zydeco Moshers, which got pretty crazy. Cabin fever, you know. (Though of course I went home early--I'm no fun.) On the way there we drove through an intense mini-blizzard where I swear it was snowing sideways. But the next morning I drank my coffee and looked at this...

which so inspired me I walked around trying to take artsy photographs,

such as a comparison of snow-laden branches

and icicles.

I'm going back this weekend to finish what I started.

No more painting for now. The store will be open. Let's see if anyone notices the changes.

  3. I really like those winter photos...we here in southern Ohio have not had a winter to speak of...The trees and bushes are starting to bud already. Lots of birds around the yard of all kinds too. I love the color of the store. nice soft rich color you choose.

  4. Such beautiful winter photos. We are in the middle of getting a bunch of snow too. We can't complain, we haven't had much. I love the fresh new look of your store. I was captivated by your scenery pictures on the wall. They are so beautiful!

  7. Wow Jen, these pictures are amazing. I confess that I had no idea that the weather was still so extreme in your part of the world. I just naively assumed that it would be starting to warm up by now. But it does make for a stunning start to the day, coffee and camera in hand. Amanda x

  9. Oh, I missed your posts a lot while I was occupied my mind by some matters not so important.
    You spent a wonderful weekend!
Recently I saw on TV that inside of a Museam in paris was repainted and it looks dark purple with a faint light. It reminded me of your store.
