I am still obsessing over colors for the store, and find myself drawn to Matisse. Strong pinks, wild blues, pattern and texture, fearless beauty.
I want to go the flower store and the paint store and purchase armloads and cans of lilacs, bluebells and fairy roses; turn my store into a Matisse painting.
This is seriously brilliant Jen! The colors here, particularly in the first Matisse photo would be fantastic for your store. The brilliance of it is people are always infatuated with color for the most part. Yeah, there is a certain sophistication to the black/white neutral combos but bottom line is people love color. I think. Color is like entering a candy store. It makes me think of Mexican color influences and the idea of the sun/moon...
I love that first picture too. I keep trying to become a calm cream, white, neutrals person, and I just can't do it. I thought about Mexico too, and Morocco and India too.
Thank you for the encouragement Helen. What would Matisse think about being used as inspiration for wall paint? Better than being on a tote bag, I suppose.
The combination of blue and green is unusualy succesful in these pictures. It's difficult when the balance and the nuance were wrong, though the lilies of the valley look great in the combination. I like your taste, Jen.
Blue, green, and a touch of pink is my favorite color combination. Some of those pictures are pretty busy, but I realized that there are things I can do in a store that I wouldn't want to live with at home. I would be very happy to have that green trunk and vase of lilies of the valleys in my home though.
Me too I am drawn to these pinks! I see them everywhere in the stores, in magazines, in shop windows! I guess it is the color of spring/summer 2012! I would not mind! Brilliant pics! Thank you so much! xxx CHrista

Demie--you are most welcome. I meant every word.
DeleteI could live in these. We have a little snow coming today. Think I'll go throw on some color!

Snow, what's that? I have gotten so spoiled this winter. I don't miss it at all.
DeleteBeautiful! Your colors give me a new burst of energy!
ReplyDeleteThey are energizing, aren't they? Will they give me enough energy to do all that painting?

Love it all, but esp the turquoise mixed with black and white. I'm sure you'll put together something gorgeous -- how fun!
ReplyDeleteEmilie's Daughter--I can't get enough of those pinks. It's hard to find the right pink wall color though. I've been seeing a lot of orange too.
ReplyDeleteAunt Jane--Pink, green, and lily of the valley...perfect.
Cool, Kat!
Anne--is a color combo I'd never have thought of. Thank Pinterest.
Great photos! I love the colors!
