The rabbits are practically tame this year.
Luke and I saw three of them playing ring around the rosy.
We really did.
I feel like I'm living in a Beatrix Potter book.
Lily and butterfly. What else is there to say? But hey, I saw a black bear last weekend. Before I could take a picture a motorcycle came along and frightened it away.
Yesterday I took a day trip to the shore
and this guy warned me that a hard rain was coming. It did.
I asked Aji to wash the windows. She was up there anyway.
I asked Aji to wash the windows. She was up there anyway.
We don't do windows.
lol, seriously... what were you thinking?
ReplyDeletethe ring around the rosey part? funniest thing I've ever seen.
DeleteFunny in an amusing adorable way. I mentioned Luke so you know I had a witness.
DeleteGreat shutter speed on the butterfly photos. Really lovely. Your cats must see your coming with your camera and come up with new tricks for your entertainment.
ReplyDeleteShutter speed? I don't know what that is. Love my $99 Canon Powershot!
DeleteA black bear!? Weren't you scared to see that?
ReplyDeleteAji intended to wash the windows but her curiosity about what was going on outside got the better of her:-)
No, I was in my car and he was walking on all fours which looked funny. For 11 years I've been waiting to see one on our property in the country--everyone else in our area has, but not me. Black bears don't bother people unless you get near their cubs.
DeleteAji appreciates you coming to her defense.
Wow Jen, The black bear was pretty close to civilization.
ReplyDeleteAji ..had a flashback and thought that was not for her tody.. 'Egyptian pose'-
Those rabbits are really tame. I have loads around here.. but they hide away.
great post Jen, beautiful flowers.
wishing you a happy weekend.
val xx
Actually I was in the country--an area with a lot of wilderness, where I saw the bear.
DeleteThe rabbits have been so calm and plentiful since my dog died and I don't have outdoor cats--no predators.
How surreal is must have been to see little rabbits playing ring around the rosie. And I can't believe Aji climbing up the window like that. I've never seen that done.
ReplyDeleteThat's Rockport, correct? I think that's the music hall but I've never seen it from that viewpoint.
They chased each other in a circle round and round so technically it wasn't RATR but close enough.
DeleteYes, Rockport from Beach Road. You know your town scapes.
I've seen one rabbit this year in the schoolyard while walking Max, he was a baby bunny too, cute as could be. So I've been missing all the little cottontails. Great pics, love the shore one, and great post. Fun.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThat one rabbit looks a bit like Max!! I don't know why we don't have rabbits in my neighborhood. We have the usual skunks, raccoons, squirrels, cats (mating lately) and lots of crows.
ReplyDeleteLove Aji's 'in flight' photo. Was she leaping at a fly?
Just trying to find a way outside...
ReplyDeleteJen... Lovely photos as always. Your bunny neighbors reminded me of the children's book, Rabbit Hill by Robert Lawson, written soon after WWII. The rabbits and other animals wonder what kind of people are moving to their woods. You and your family must be good neighbors. Bunny looks quite content! Susan
ReplyDeleteWe have that book--I read it to my children!
DeleteWe are good rabbit neighbors now that the cats don't go outside. :)
I've felt weak because of the heat during the last weekend, but now I'm getting recover my energy... Thank you for your post full of nature and phenomena of your surrounding.
ReplyDeleteWe had a terrible heat wave too. Exhausting. Hope you are feeling better and that it's cooled off.
Deleteoh dear Jen! a bear! wow!
ReplyDeleteit looks like your wild life is wilder than mine ;)
love the rabbit!
lovely days to you my friend
Don't ruin my fantasies about the wilds of Norway!
DeleteThe picture with the lily and the butterfly took my breath away. So beautiful! Our rabbits are the same, so I totally believe you. Those tiny one are so cute. I love your post. It was the perfect way to start my day.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness ... I can't imagine seeing a bear for real, but rabbits we have too many, everywhere. Oh yes, I know the Egyptian cat look well!
ReplyDeleteI recognise that window-climbing.... in this house, nothing to do with helping to wash windows, more like catching flies!
ReplyDeleteYou could do worse than living in a B. Potter story! Sounds charming. What a gentle world is here in this post! Hope you're enjoying summer!
ReplyDeletecute little bunny. and cats are my favorite pet to watch because they are so funny and curious too
ReplyDeleteJen,
ReplyDeleteI'm with your cat, I don't do windows either, unless I have to!
Great pix, looks so relaxing and lovely!
