  1. I'd like to Nestlé into the center of the kitty circle!
Messy desk? So charming and familiar!

  2. It all looks like home to me.

I tried to comment twice on your last post and either my computer or a certain fancypants kitten made them go poof away.

Yes, short stories. Yes, Jhumpa Lihiri, yes Ellen Gilchrist, yes, Laurie Colwin. Yes, yes, yes.

  5. sweet snippets of home.

the persians are alleged to have invented them, but the venetians brought the idea back with them. seems unfair. :)

    1. Now that's interesting. They are practical from a design point of view and have been refined, but I still have those clanky metal ones in one room--I was having a hard time imagining such a thing in Venice (and wondering why I haven't replaced them).

  7. You haven't replaced them because they're there. I have the same problem, however from now on I'll call them persian blinds which will make me sound exotic...or nuts...or pretentious. The rest looks nice and normal, home. You hit paydirt with those sweet peas, and those sweet kitties.
