flowers in the wild

Wildflowers were everywhere in the country this weekend--fields, roadsides, farmers markets and meadows. As I wandered I noticed many single species tucked here and there in unexpected places--between stones, creekside, peeping out from a fallen tree...

How lovely and hardy they are. Each one has something to say.

  1. Those wild glowers, they are really hardy.
When I notice some wild ones have their tiny flowers in my yard I can't throw them away.

  4. Wild flowers speak to the soul. Jasmine maybe? Fall blooming anemones, solidago. Correct?

And what backgrounds. Nobody does it better than mother nature.

    1. I don't think it's jasmine because there's not scent. Not sure about the others you mention.

After mother nature come flower designers.

  5. I could imagine your putting a happy face with a little surprise to find those lovely wild flowers in unexpected places. Some are so tiny that in many cases they are not noticed but I like their modest but hardy existence.

  8. I thought that was some kind of hellebore, they're so pretty. I get some weeds sometimes that are similar to some of these and my motto is "if you're a cute weed you stay!"
