It's 55 degrees in January. Aji and I have spring fever.
Time to stop being such a dilettante. I am cleaning house, getting rid of a lot of stuff including collage materials. If you know anyone who could use some, have them email me: jen (at) countryweekend [dot] net.
Hello Jen:
ReplyDeleteDo you think that you could hypnotise us? We could repeat after you...simplify, simplify and see whether it worked. We fear not!!!!
It's a process, one that never ends...
DeleteYou're so brave! I've considered doing the same thing-getting rid of all the various art supplies-but I think I'll want to pursue it again one day. Do you think you're really done with it?
ReplyDeleteThere's definitely some impulsiveness at play here.
DeleteNot giving up my paints and brushes (yet).
Hello Jen,
ReplyDeleteI think we all go through these phases!
I often throw out old papers and silly little things i keep sometimes.
Simplify is the word.

I have gotten beyond comfortably cluttered, which means some things must go.
DeleteI also like to simplify everything I can. And if I was nearer, I would buy that collage :-)
ReplyDeleteI've spent my life trying to simplify. Maybe one day I'll get there...
DeleteRidiculously warm, wasn't it? Our hickens had Spring fever too! Good idea decluttering now; just think of all that light & air flowing in when Spring really does arrive!
ReplyDeleteOh, they'll be sad when it gets cold again! This day was such a tease.
DeleteLove the picture of the kitten by the window -- you and they must be having so much fun!
ReplyDeleteThe ironing board is now a cat perch. I am enjoying them so much. And it's nice having mother and kitten---my pets have not always gotten along, so this is a treat.
DeleteLove the concept. I seem to either go one of two ways: Go whole hog crazy and then wonder two months later where is such an such...or...I start to study everything which means it stays. Aji is such a cutie, keep her!
ReplyDeleteI've reached a tipping point...or maybe I went over the falls!
DeleteAji has the perfect vantage point. Good luck with purging.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week

Put your collage materials in large plastic freezer bags and mark them "collage materials" and then give them to a local charity shop for their crafts section - if they have a crafts section. Nice photo of the kitten. I wanted to reach through the screen and stroke her.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea!
Deleteha, i won't be getting that particular urge until, well, spring! ;D
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet picture. Kittens have the best life-even if they aren't allowed outside on a cold rainy day just after the house was cleaned....crazy humans.

Doesn't it feel good afterwards? I emptied my kitchen cupboards at the weekend (I'm too embarrassed to own up to some of the things I found there) and I felt so cleansed without the cupboard clutter! M x
ReplyDeleteI love simplifying but I also love making collages. The sun is out and you have inspired me. I feel like sorting something!
ReplyDeleteTo hear that you wont make your beautiful collages any more makes me sad, though I suppose you have alternative and it's fine.
