green land, pink sea

Spring was late this year, but I've been savoring it.
My Massachusetts yard has become a rabbit refuge.
Yesterday two of them were playing leapfrog.

Who says dandelions are weeds?

The wildflowers in the Catskills are enchanting.
I haven't gotten up there as much as I'd like, but will make up for it this summer.
I'm really into blue flowers right now, and purply blues,
I need to plant some delphiniums.

Another picture from the wedding. The bride and bridesmaids
leaving her family apartment.
Below are their bouquets.

Flowers and ceremony decor were done by Fleurish NYC,
and they did a great job.

My peonies haven't bloomed yet.
They remind me of globes--
green land, pink sea.

  1. Jen, lovely photos as always. The bride looked so beautiful and I loved those flower bouquets.
You definitely need to plant some delphiniums as they are beautiful but make sure you keep the pesky snails and slugs away, they have made a real meal of some of mine!

  3. Hello Jen

Your peonies are beautiful, I love their perfume. How happy the bride and family look, I wonder what the joke was? The coloured shoes on the bridesmaids really make a statement

  6. Mmm. That's an interesting concept of a peony bud. I'll be looking at mine in a different way now.

    1. I think it's the shapes of the green--made me think of pictures of earth from space.

  7. Wish I had bunnies hopping around in my back yard - but then 'somebody' would be chasing them, so best not!
Your daughter-in-law looks radiantly happy and her flowers are beautiful. My peonies are almost bloomed out!

    1. Now that I have indoor cats the backyard wildlife situation has exploded. Strange about peonies as we're only a few miles apart.

  10. What a sweet post. The two photos I like the best are: the bride (she looks gorgeous and so happy) and your "globe" (what a creative way to see a peony bud!).
