  1. Beautiful video, Jen. I didn't know Matt was a painter.

  2. Yes, we are star children. That idea is so extremely touching to me.
The paintings are really quite good Jen.

    1. Touching, yes! The concept, when I can grasp it, is wondrous.

  3. Hello Jen, These paintings seemed to take me in another direction--I felt that I was looking through a microscope.

  5. The video reminds me of going to the planetarium when I was a kid, it was one of my favorite places. I also see oceans in Matt's paintings, the other outer space.

    1. Yeah, I am really in the mood for a planetarium right now.

I see deep ocean in some of his paintings too, though I didn't put any of them up. This is a time when I'm frustrated by my lack of ability to take good pictures.

  8. These are really beautiful, Jen. I'm really impressed. My reaction to the first one was also deep ocean...or a Chihuly exhibit. The negative painting in the maroon one is really well done. I see the texture of canvas on some but are a few also watercolor. I see what looks like the effect of, perhaps, salt on the first one.

    1. I'm glad you like them. They are all acrylics, but he thins the paint a lot.
Not salt (interesting idea--I'll tell him). I think it was a static electricity response using plastic that he's having a hard time reproducing.

  10. Well done to your son Matt Jen,
I really like his art. I like your friend from Urban cottage, thought that they were water colours , using the salt method. I could see they were on canvas.. very intriguing indeed.. Really "stardust" affect.
    A great post. Enjoyed it.
    Happy Sunday
