the gorgeous nothings

Solo retreat in Provincetown--long walks, good art, crazy sunset, interesting conversations.

"Provincetown is, always has been, an eccentrics sanctuary."

Green. I can't stay away.

Each little square is an exploration.

Also,

The Woman Who Lost Her Soul by Bob Shaccochis. Great book. Read it if the description makes it sound like your kind of thing.

New Directions is publishing reproductions of Emily Dickinson's writings on envelopes. The Gorgeous Nothings.

  2. Hi Jen, a little long time no see on the blog...! You seem to enjoy your life, travelling, reading and so forth. It is refreshingly sunny and cool day these days. I also was occupied by not just gorgeous things but daily matters and walking for my knee...I always enjoy your green stuff. Thanks!

  8. Having followed several of your book selection and loving every one of them, I'm sure I'll be reading this one too. You're breaking my bank!

But you're enlarging my world, fair trade.

  9. I so glad you "get" Provincetown. A lot of people go there but not a lot of people get it or take advantage of what's behind the curtain so to speak. Each visit will unveil more and more, you may even start to make friends there.

Love the Athena article and I'm intrigued by the Dickinson envelopes. To be able read her original handwriting would add another whole dimension to reading her work.

  11. Nice retreat. Provincetown is special. I love that photo on the wharf...not that the rest are shabby :)You're helping me pick my green, that's IF I go in that direction, the longer it takes the more colors that pop into my head.

    1. My suggestion. Take your time. I was going to paint my house creamy yellow, which I love. Then I went on a grey jag and now it's blue-gray. Perfectly nice, but every time I see a yellow house I'm sad.
