Night snow.
Morning snow.
Snow through the window.
Today is a day for tidying. I shoveled snow this morning, and this afternoon will take the ornaments off the tree, though I will leave the lights for one more night. Needing a break from the machinations of Lincoln's cabinet I picked up a book by Donna Leon which makes me want to book a flight to Venice.
Or perhaps Key West. Marilyn Silver, who I got to know through the Longyear Gallery next to my old store, spent a month in Key West last winter and did a series of cottage paintings. I bought this one-- looking at it warms me and takes me far from the snow.
The pink car is probably why I chose this one.
It looks really pretty Jen. I love it when it snows overnight and its all fresh and new.Wishing you a very happy 2013!
ReplyDeleteI love the tree with the colored lights covered in snow. We don't normally get to enjoy that scene around here. And everything was so pretty this morning.
ReplyDeleteI'll be doing my snow pics for FITH tomorrow morning.
The pictures are all so beautiful. Here, when it snows it is all just a big mess.
ReplyDeleteI would choose Key West over Venice any day. There is a sort of freedom in the air there.
Oooh, looks like you got a lot more than we did, and we haven't even bothered to shovel yet...lazy weekend...or lazy people. Agree with Steve on the colored lights tree, sooooo pretty. Enjoy the quiet.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Love the book suggestions too.
ReplyDeletelove love love Donna Leon. enjoy your culinary trip to Italy :)
ReplyDeleteoh, and I'm wishing you a happy new year xxo
Happy New Year Jen. Enjoy your warm house and your sore muscles.
ReplyDeletehappy new year.

Jen.. the snow photos are just beautiful! I have to agree the tree with colored lights and covered in snow is stunning! All are lovely and very foreign to this Southern girl. Whenever there is the possibility of snow here, people lose all rational thought and the hysteria begins! No chance of that as the temps today were in the 60s... so we'll just live vicariously through our friends who blog and share life in a different realm! Happy, Happy New Year to you and yours. May 2013 be a year of contentment, sound health, and many good things.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Jen, waiting for my sons who will come to home today. My husband and I have just payed a visit small shrine near our house.
ReplyDeleteWasn't the snow beautiful? And the perfect amount. Key West sounds good right about now as it is bitterly cold tonight.
ReplyDeleteThe snow looks beautiful, especially on the pretty fairly light tree. We are still having unusually mild but very wet weather here. I'm fed up of muddy boots and wet coats now! M x
ReplyDeleteYour snow is beautiful! We got some just in time for the holidays and somehow it worked out that if you drove five miles in any direction, there was none. It was unusual but the boys were happy that we had some.
