We're expecting our first big snow tomorrow, conveniently on Saturday. I'm afraid I might cover every surface in the house with bottle brush trees and deer. So far they are confined to the mantle, but it could happen. I feel the temptation lurking, waiting to pounce.
Enjoy your weekend.
xo, Jen
Hi Jen, Now you can see the dangers of deer overpopulating when there is no culling program in effect.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your Snow day.

ReplyDeleteYou too, Petra.
DeleteLove them! I'm really looking forward to the snow. The timing is perfect; there's nothing to do but sit back and enjoy it. Decorate away!
ReplyDeleteThere is a wonderful sense of anticipation for weekend storms (unless you are a florist, emergency worker, etc) when you aren't worried about digging out, ice, boots, gloves, transit... Just what drink, what book, it's so pretty!
DeleteThey are all so deer. Love them.
ReplyDeleteOh god, they're talking snow and ice here and we have parties and weddings out the yingyang, wish it could wait till Sunday.
Or Tuesday when i have both Cheryl Strayed books coming.

Last winter and this, the mid-Atlantic seems to have become New England. I feel for you--you must envy New Zealand florists, right now.
DeleteLet me know what you think of the books. I found it hard to put Wild Down. The other I read one letter at a time, there was so much to absorb Powerful stuff, my deer.
Always liked your rabbit picture.
ReplyDeleteThanks. It seems to be a winter mantle regular.
DeleteExciting whimsical decoration!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend enjoying first snow.
Thanks, Haricot. Just found a new tanka book I'll email you about.

DeleteLovely, Jen. I vowed this year to only put out the things I really love... Seems I need to look for my little kitchen window deer and Santa...you have reminded me of those special loves. Stay warm and cozy up your way! Susan
ReplyDeleteHi Susan--that's exactly the way I feel. No stress. I love the idea of deer on the kitchen windowsill!
DeleteI perfectly understand, Jen! It is getting so close to Christmas one just gets in the mood and this is expressed by decorating! Wishing you a good time and by the way I love those little deers a lot! Christa

DeleteJen,
ReplyDeletelove your little trees and deer! As I look around here, I have deer everywhere, can you be obsessed without even knowing it, they are my favorite thing! I'm jealous that we don't get snow, it's always so beautiful when it first falls! We loved it when we lived in Green Bay, I'm so glad my kids got to experience that!
Have a wonderful Holiday Season!
Rebecca
"Can you be obsessed without even know it"? I love that! That's me.
DeleteBoy am I behind, you wrote this 4 days ago. The snow actually helped, we decorated the tree and hung the outside lights...it took two days since we had time and did it slowly. Love bottle brush trees :)
