a country weekend

There was the farmers market of course, and an auction, many barns, paint samples tested on the house with final decision based on those barns, great books finds at Bibliobarn (the treasure being Hiroshoge's Fifty-Three Stages of the Tokaido), an epic fall into a ditch while taking a picture of a roadside sculpture of a cat, lots of wandering… I have much to share with you, but right now I'm tired and just want to say hello. Oh, and there were wildflowers!

Hope you had a good weekend.

xo, Jen

  2. Hello Jen!

We look forward to your refreshed return!

The wildflower posy is delightful.....not so, by the sound of it, the spectacular tumble into the ditch.

    See you soon xxx

  4. Wonderful book - I would've taken it home too. I have Hiroshige's One Hundred Views of Edo and Birds and Flowers. Love them! The Youtube video was really nice - and the koto music that accompanied it. Thanks for sharing. Hope you're okay after the ditch trip!

    1. I wasn't hurt. I went knee deep into heavy mud. (The term swampy comes to mind--or swamp sucking. There was actually a sucking sound when I pulled myself out. I had momentary visions of having to be rescued by the fire department.)

  8. That better be one heck of a cat sculpture to have you risk injury and a mud bath for. Those very pretty flowers and the video make up for it though. We're off to the Finger Lakes soon, can't wait for all the country stuffs. You're painting the house?
