a visit to Bow Street Flowers

Hey friends, your local indie florist is a great place for holiday shopping.
You'll feel like you walked into a secret garden spa.

Bow Street Flowers has soaps, candles,

ornaments (I got an elephant for the elephant-lover in my life)
sweet containers of paperwhites....

and of course flowers. A fresh bouquet might not be practical (under the tree and all that),
but a gift certificate is,
or a dark days of January surprise.

(another visit to Bow Street here)

Also, another book gift idea: A Year With Rumi, Daily Readings.

These Lights

Inside water, a waterwheel turns,
A star circulates with the moon.

We live in the night ocean, wondering,
What are these lights?

                                                 ---Rumi

  1. Oh how sweet, I love that shop! So jealous you got to go visit. It was closed when I was in Boston.

Of course that meant I got to spend the day with Shelley, but I'm just saying...

Looks like a perfect spot to wander into while snow falls outside.

    Do you have snow?

    1. Yes, just enough to be pretty, but not a hassle.

  2. Since I work in a small neighborhood floral shop, I whole heartedly agree that they are lovely places for special gifts. It's so nice to have a bouquet delivered that I didn't have to make myself. :)

    1. Hmmm...what does every florist want? A massage, maybe? Warm slippers and a hot toddy?

  4. We're so jealous, you get to visit in person. Are those Saipua soaps? I used to order them for gifts all the time. Who's the elephant for?

  11. Oh, Jen... What a treat to actually be able to visit Bow Street Flowers. The flowers are lovely, the gift ideas divine, Christmas and festive parties in the air.. much to prepare for, but the essential question... did you get to meet the new pup and see the bunnies? :-) Susan

    1. No, Addie wasn't there, but I saw some more pictures and she is a treasure. Saw the bunnies last time, but not this time--I think they were in the back cleaning the floor (eating leaves stripped from flowers).
