This reminds us very much of the diarists Kilvert and Gilbert White who also made such observations in their respective parts of the English countryside.It all reminds one of an earlier age when there was time to stand and stare and look at Nature in all its wonder and variation at close quarters and to record it. Perfectly lovely.
