I think her work would fit well with the books you have so far. I will look up the book you mentioned--it sounds like like something I'd like. I agree with you about books--people are always drawn to them.

Linda--I love historic novels and am putting "The Anatomy of Ghosts" on my list. You sound like me, reading more than one book at a time! I love color and found your post on Violet really interesting. I've been thinking about it.

Petra--I never got through On Photography either. I did take aways something useful of it though--the concept of when traveling how differently we see things when looking through a lens, and if we are actually looking.

Ashling--so glad you found me. Sheepish sounds like something I would like. I am a fan of memoirs, and one having to do with a farm is right up my alley.

Wild Eden--You happiness and enthusiasm make me happy!Jenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09606982492407185097noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1494925975380418965.post-21155283553893052452012-02-16T13:50:55.556-05:002012-02-16T13:50:55.556-05:00Always go with what you love! I have just finished 'The Anatomy of Ghosts' by Andrew Taylor (author of the bestseller 'The American Boy'). I finished it in a couple of days which is really good for me. It is set in Cambridge, England in 1786 and is more of a murder mystery than about ghosts. I enjoyed it very much.

I am also reading David Copperfield by Dickens, but it is a very old book and the print is very small and so I am making slow progress, but I want to read some classics as well as new stuff.

Many thanks for your comments about Violet. In it's strongest form it is not a colour for the faint hearted, but I like it when it is paler and dirtier. Periwinkle is a really lovely colour too and I love the flowers. Enjoy your weekend, love Linda xflowers on my tablehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11134447944633072349noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1494925975380418965.post-53646060864040772852012-02-16T11:04:50.619-05:002012-02-16T11:04:50.619-05:00I'm in the middle of Francine Prose's &quo...I'm in the middle of Francine Prose's "Bigfoot Dreams". I don't normally like humor in novels but Prose's, I'm enjoying greatly. It's the story of a Jewish single parent reporter for a sleazy tabloid. Found it at the Goodwill of course. The Washington Post calls it "Metaphysical high comedy." I highly recommend it.

With regard to filling up your store's bookcase, people like seeing books. That's all.Rubye Jackhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02511953177053448513noreply@blogger.com
