I like to work on a small scale. I can't conceptualize designing or decorating large spaces. I'm a better poet than novelist. When I was small I tore off the back of envelopes to draw on--I didn't want a whole piece of paper. I bake cookies not cakes. I like to stay home and read. Faced with a large expanse to garden in, I am overwhelmed. I like the odd weedy corner, battered containers.
That's the way I'm feeling these days--a little battered and weedy, though not without some small charm.

If I were a flower I'd be a Virginia bluebell or a violet. I could never be a rose (not even a wild rose) or peony or anything large and magnificent.
If you were a flower, what would you be?

ReplyDeleteI would definitely be a peony..They are my number one absolute favorite flower in the world....did I make it clear that I love peonies? LOL!
that was fun and a charming self-description. Good question, that flower thing. Hmm. I do love peonies as well but I'm definitely not that showy.

ReplyDeleteGardening is out of my realm also, can do a little container planting here and there but would be totally over whelmed to do a whole garden! Hydrangeas are my favorites, lovely, but not ostentatious, kind of all American girl next door? Looked back over some of the posts I missed, to funny, I looove Garden and Gun! In fact, am planning a post on it soon! Glad you had a nice visit to Nashville!

ReplyDeleteHow often is it that quality not quantity is the thing that counts!
We would probably say that from our gardening experience of 25 years in rural England we learned that the best gardens were those that were essentially quite simple. A single plant used many times over had so much more impact than lots of different ones.
Clearly, you have an eye for colour with your container of all those delicious pastel shades. Just repeat it, over and over!
We have found you quite by chance and shall return to read more!
